1. Policy Statement

V1 Recruitment Ltd is committed to providing equal opportunities in employment and recruitment.

We aim to ensure that no individual — candidate, client, or employee — receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, disability, gender, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

We oppose all forms of unlawful discrimination and promote a culture of fairness, respect, and inclusion.

2. Purpose of the Policy

The purpose of this policy is to:

  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work.
  • Prevent unlawful discrimination in recruitment and employment practices.
  • Ensure that selection for employment, promotion, training, or any other benefit is based solely on merit, ability, and suitability.

3. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All staff and contractors working for V1 Recruitment Ltd.
  • All candidates and job applicants engaged through our recruitment services.
  • All dealings with clients, suppliers, and business partners.

4. Legal Framework

This policy is based on the principles of the Equality Act 2010 and complies with all relevant UK legislation.

V1 Recruitment Ltd recognises its duties as both an employer and a recruitment business to prevent discrimination, harassment, and victimisation.

5. Responsibilities

  • Management is responsible for ensuring this policy is implemented, communicated, and regularly reviewed.
  • Employees and consultants are expected to uphold the principles of equality and treat everyone with dignity and respect.
  • Recruiters must ensure that all selection decisions are fair, objective, and based on relevant criteria only.

6. Recruitment and Selection

  • Job advertisements will avoid any wording that might discourage certain groups from applying.
  • Shortlisting and selection decisions will be based on objective, job-related criteria.
  • Reasonable adjustments will be made for candidates with disabilities at all stages of the recruitment process.
  • We will not request or use information that could lead to discrimination, such as age, marital status, or religious belief.

7. Training and Awareness

V1 Recruitment Ltd provides training to staff to ensure awareness of equal opportunity principles and the avoidance of unconscious bias in recruitment decisions.

All team members involved in hiring or client liaison must complete equality and diversity training.

8. Monitoring and Review

We monitor our recruitment practices to ensure fairness and equality are maintained.

This includes reviewing candidate data, client feedback, and internal processes to identify and remove barriers to equality.

This policy will be reviewed annually or whenever there are significant changes in equality legislation.

9. Reporting Discrimination

Any employee, candidate, or client who believes they have been discriminated against should report the matter to lewis.gray@v1recruitment.com.

All complaints will be handled confidentially, promptly, and fairly. No one will be victimised for making a complaint in good faith.

10. Commitment

V1 Recruitment Ltd strives to maintain a working environment and recruitment process where everyone is treated with fairness, dignity, and respect — allowing all individuals to reach their full potential.
