Business Development Manager – Engineered Products (Remote: FL, GA, TX)

 Base Salary: $110,000–$130,000 + 20% Bonus
Travel: Up to 50% (USA & Canada)


Job Summary


We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Business Development Manager to expand awareness and accelerate adoption of our engineered products across the architectural and engineering (A/E) community in North America. This role combines technical expertise with relationship building, consultative selling, and market development. You will act as a subject-matter expert, supporting customers through design and construction stages while driving project specifications and revenue growth.

This is a remote position open to candidates based in Florida, Georgia, or Texas.


Key Responsibilities


Pipeline & Project Development

  • Manage the full project opportunity pipeline, engaging early with architects and engineers to secure product specifications during design.
     
  • Track opportunities from lead qualification through bid and close using CRM tools.
     
  • Collaborate with field sales teams to develop capture strategies and maximize conversion of project leads.
     

Customer Engagement & Education

  • Meet with architects, engineers, and developers—both virtually and in person—to deliver product presentations and accredited continuing education sessions.
     
  • Review drawings, specifications, and calculations; provide feedback on code compliance, suitability, and product integration.
     
  • Advocate for the company at industry events, associations, and institutes within the A/E/C community.
     

Technical Support & Collaboration

  • Serve as a liaison between external design professionals and internal engineering teams to clarify project requirements.
     
  • Visit jobsites to educate contractors, installers, and end-users on correct product application.
     
  • Work closely with marketing, product management, and technical services to maintain presentations, technical materials, and product content.
     

Market & Product Development

  • Partner with sales and operations to forecast demand using CRM data and opportunity management.
     
  • Support product management with voice-of-customer activities, competitor analysis, and new product development insights.
     

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (preferred, not mandatory).
     
  • 5+ years’ experience in the commercial construction or product specification market.
     
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings; knowledge of CSI Specifications (Division 03).
     
  • Experience with CRM and lead-generation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, CMD, SpecLink).
     
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
     
  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term stakeholder relationships.
     
  • Skilled in cold calling, negotiation, and persuasive technical presentations.
     
  • Highly organized, proactive, and driven, with a growth-oriented mindset.
     
  • Willingness to travel across the U.S. and Canada up to 50%.
     

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $110,000–$130,000
     
  • Bonus: Up to 20%
